Sometimes, tehre is just a little pink showing and it is cute. Others, his tongue just hangs out about an inch or so, at its quite disturbing. I usually just touch it and it will go back in.

Every once in a while one of our cats will have just the tip of their tongue out of their mouths.

Our neighbor just rescused a stray cat that had almost all of her tongue hanging out of her mouth all the time.
She took the cat to the Vet...which is what I would recommed that you do...and it turned out that some of cats teeth...or should I say what teeth she had left( turns out she had lost several teeth already...long before my neighbor rescused her)...were bad and had to be removed.

Take kitty to the Vet just to be on the safe side.
Tooth or gums problems can lead to something more serious over time.

More info...how old is the cat? Sometimes kittens or young adult cats will allow their tongues to be exposed just because. There may also be some oral or dental disease ( in a mature cat) going on that is causing discomfort.

My cat does it too and I thought it was very abnormal till one day I was at my Sister in laws house and her cat was doing it. So I am guessing that when a cat gets laid back and relaxed or they have there focus on other things... maybe they forget about their tongues. I would say that it's normal or we just have very unique cats! : )

Depends on the age of the cat. I would say that if this is abnormal for her then contact a vet. She may have some kind of pain in her mouth.

Your cat may have a tooth ache or may be sick. Take the cat to the Vet, My cat Gracie did this when she had bad teeth and had to have three pulled.
