For the first time ever I have terrible skin, this started about 2 weeks ago and I have only had my kitten for about 3 1/2 weeks. I do not want to get rid of the kitten (my daughter wont hear of it) but I dont know what to do about my skin, it is really bad. I am trying to keep the kitten out of my room but this is difficult as it means my door must constantly be shut - the kitten will also start scratching and banging the door to be let it.

Dear all, my kitten aged 17 weeks, is an indoor kitten and was treated for fleas the week that I got him. I also sprayed the house with the flea spray.

See your doctor about the possibility of allergy shots.

Are the spots skin itchy??

Your kitten might have fleas & you may be getting bitten. Talk to your vet (kittens have to be treated differently than full grown cats), and get a household flea spray for your house. Make sure you spray your sofa & chair cushions as well as all carpeted areas and wash all your sheets. That should take care of the problem.

If you keep the kitten as an indoor cat only you should never have a flea problem. They bring them indoors from the grass etc. where other animals have been.

If the spots you mention are round red spots about 1cm in diameter (up to half an inch), they can be funghi and all you need to do is use a cream for funghi on you and a powder or something on the cat, like Lamisil or Dactarin or the equivalent in the US. Check the cat if he has some bald spots.
If this is not funghi, it could be an allergy. Don't panic, I know many people who are allergic but have cats. The allergy becomes less severe with time, as you get usedto the cat, and ypu can also go to an allergy doctor to give you some allergy shots that really help. Also, you can take anti-histamine pills or an antihistamine cream for some time. And shower often with a hypoallergic soap or/and an antibacterial or antifungal soap like Fungoral or Betadine.

Im allergic to my cat too but i have found over the past year i have got used to her fur, so you should give it time. But you cant keep on having this skin problem i suggest asking medication off your GP saying it is out of the question to get rid of the kitten. I wonder where abouts u are getting the spots, a good few years ago i had lots of itchy blotchy spots on my back I found rubbing E45 cream into the spots helps alot. Also in ASDA they sell Allergy relief tablets which could help, but that just helps my sneezing allergy against my cat but you can read into it. Hope Ive helped

It does sound like allergies, but that doesn't mean you need to get rid of the kitten. Try taking Benadryl and see your doctor about getting shots.

Another tip is to keep the house super clean. You'll probably have to vacuum every day, but owning a cat is worth it!

You are clearly allergic. Get rid of the cat. Buy a nice dog or better still keep your house pet free and a lot cleaner. I am a terrible shedder of Collie Hair, you want to see what he vacuums up every other day! Your kids will get over it. Your health comes first.

as quickly as I try bathing my 12 week previous kitten he freaks. i in my view additionally observed that he sneezes and has somewhat sniffle upon getting a tub and shivered one time. So i finished, and could only do baths perhaps.. as quickly as each and every 3 weeks? i might say discipline Mugwii with a twig bottle yet that may not do lots sturdy in any respect... only provide her a competent hit on the nostril and circulate her each and every time she's attempting to get close to the water.

Besides allergy, which is possible, you may have ringworm. kittens can carry the fungus that causes ringworm without showing symptoms. Limit your daughter's access to the kitten until you AND the kitty are checked out.

You might be allergic to the oil on the skin. Go to a pet store ask for the cream that you put on your cat so you aren't bothered anymore. It works, I swear!!!
