If you live in the US and these are pigeons he/she is taking out of the wild, yes it is illegal. There is a law called the Migratory Bird Treaty Act that makes it illegal to harm any bird in any way. This law does not even allow people to collect feathers, let alone eat a bird! How do you know your neigbor is actually eating them? Are you sure they are not pets? If he is keeping them as food you need to contact the US Fish and Wildlife Service and report him, or the US Department of Fish and Game

Why are you bothered by what your neighbors do in the privacy of their own back yard? What makes you think they eat them? Maybe their homing pigeons. Besides, what you're suggesting will only bring about bad harmony between neighbors. If it were something that affected you, like a child being abused or neglected, or like roosters crowing or a dog excessively barking you'd have cause for complaint but even then, take it to your neighbor first, in a neighborly way before calling in the "authorities".

Nothing illegal about eating pigeons - they taste good too. But I have the feeling you are not allowed to keep pigeons in your back garden without planning permission - it is the pigeons droppings that are dangerous rather than the birds themselves. The droppings are carcinogenic. Go tot he local council and ask about PP.

It is legal to eat pigeons, even wild ones -- they are not a protected species, and in most states you can capture and kill them at any time. Pigeon eggs are also edible, although rather small. (So scramble a lot of them!) Regarding keeping them in the backyard, this would depend on local ordinances.

Pigeons would properly be food like chickens are food. perchance he eats them, or eats their eggs. perhaps he likes to hearken to them "sing". between the most acceptable pets i have ever had turned right into a pigeon. perhaps he composts their droppings to apply on his backyard. perhaps he will set them free as area of a celebration. do not ask him yet; wait till eventually when you've chosen the most acceptable answer and word in the adventure that your neighbor's answer concurs.

if the birds are kept well and are comfortable he's probably a pigeon fancier, what makes you think he's eating them?
pigeons are classed as vermin in UK so as long as they are not being abused then there's little you can do

Its might be against local by-laws to have the cage and the livestock in a town. Its not against the law to keep livestock to eat. They might be pets?
