Is it really true that according to your faith all non believers are considered to be infidels?
Is it also true that if you kill an infidel you are guaranteed a place in heaven?
Im told conflicting views by different people and would like to know the truth.

I think I can give you an answer with references that you can verify yourself.

With respect to infidels, do you agree that the worst kind of Infidels are the ones who were Muslims and reject the Faith?. I mean they should be the ones that Muslims hate the most. if you do agree then what is Quran directing Muslims to do. Here is from Surah 4

[89] They wish that you reject Faith, as they have rejected (Faith), and thus that you all become equal (like one another). So take not Auliyâ' (protectors or friends) from them, till they emigrate in the Way of Allâh (to Muhammad (peace be upon him)) But if they turn back (from Islâm), take (hold) of them and kill them wherever you find them, and take neither Auliyâ' (protectors or friends) nor helpers from them.

and the next verse is

[90] Except those who join a group, between you and whom there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with their breasts restraining from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. Had Allâh willed, indeed He would have given them power over you, and they would have fought you. So if they withdraw from you, and fight not against you, and offer you peace, then Allâh has opened no way for you against them.

now if you read both carefully you can see that fighting them is only for those who will fight you. so if Muslims were guaranteed a place in heaven for killing infidels Quran would have asked them to kill them just right in that verse but it did not.

Please e-mail me if you need further explanations

God bless

hey interesting question!
first of all Islam means Peace*
many people have answered the question correctly
You can only defend not attack.
you have to give them chance to become muslim.
there is no compulsion in religion. Islam did not spread through sword. as the some people claimed.
Let me tell you something bro. Muslims ruled as far as from some part of frence to south asia n more . look at the countries some of them majorities are non muslim. spain, hungary, india, greece. etc. go in to details in history . yes some rulers did do some mistake but most of them allowed freedom and respect.
When the muslims took the palestine , that time jews, and christians used to get prosecuted openly but muslims gave them protection and freedom to live. but just asked them to pay the taxes. IF islam allowed such killing there would be no non-believers. check this site http://www.muslim.org/islam/tolerance.htm

There's genuine Islamic websites that provide the TRUTH about Muslims and if you read it you'll find that many of them are breaking their own "rules", with terrorists being the worst offenders despite saying they do what they do for Allah and all Muslims. I'm not Muslim and have no allegiance to any religion.

Islam, like Christianity suffers from so called 'False religion'. The Koran states sincere people with ' A Book' (The Bible) who pray should be respected.
Violence is no part of true religion.

in·fi·del [ínfid'l, ínfi dèl]
(plural in·fi·dels)
noun (disapproving)
1. unbeliever: somebody who does not believe in a major religion, especially Christianity or Islam
2. nonbeliever: somebody with no religious belief
=============

1. According to the above description, no, not all.

2. No, there is nothing like that in Islam.

If anyone says that, ask for proof, if they give you verses of the Qur'an, check out the context, the surrounding verses, the name of the chapter.

Basically...... Muslims only kill non-Muslims during war. Not just by going to a non-muslim, and kill them. They have to be in a state of Jihad.

Jihad, often mistranslated as ‘Holy War’ (a popular phrase from the Crusades), actually means: to strive and endeavour in Allaah’s cause. Hence, jihad can be expressed in a purely peaceful way. The Prophet Muhammad had said that:
“The best jihad is by one who strives against (the evil of) his own self for Allaah, the Might and Majestic.’ (at-Tabarani)
Allaah has said:

“So obey no the disbelievers, but make a great jihad against them (by preaching) with this (Qur’aan). (Qur’aan 25:52)

Likewise, when it becomes necessary to physically fight evil, jihad takes on a martial dimension, the so-called ‘jihad of the sword.’ The Prophet and his followers, like many Israelite Prophets before them, fought wars in self-defence and in order to abolish idolatry, tyranny and oppression. Allaah says:

“And what is wrong with you that you do not fight in the cause of Allaah and for those weak, ill-treated and oppressed among men, women and children whose only cry is: ‘Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors, and raise for us from You on who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help!” (Qur’aan 4:75)

No that's absolute rubbish. The Quran says "leave them to their religion, and you to yours." Many occasions in history Muslims have been the peace keepers between Jews and Christians. Also, During the reign of the Caliphas they were often criticised for not enforcing their religion on the conquered nations as the Jews and Christians did.

Good question, thanks for asking and not assuming the rubbish others say is true.

im agnostic. however my muslim friends tell me this:

1. you can only attack some one if you have been attacked by them.
2. you cant attack any innocent people.
3. the people you attack have to be armed.
4. you have to warn people before you attack them.
5. you have to give them a chance to convert to islam before you attack them.

islam is a peaceful religion that discourages violence, so i would say that the answer to your question is - no, non-believers are not infidels, and no, you are not guaranteed a place in heaven if you kill some one who isnt muslim.

remember, islam and christianity are fundamentally pretty similar and came from the same part of the world - with similar values and both strongly based on holy books. islam values all life and terrorists go against islam.
