yeh i no that in america they sue u. but in australia it is not that stupid if i have signs saying 'dog on property enter at own risk' i cant be sued and honestly i want my dog to hurt them so bad that they will either be dead or injured badly. lol just joking but it would be good if she takes a good hard snap at those basteds arms or legs i bet that will stop them robbing people!!! by the way people tryed to break in to my garage yesterday i have 20k worth of dirt bikes!!! thats why i am asking this question.

That is just genetic- some have the fierce sense of ownership of the property and will attack anything that goes on it, others don't.
Our old husky almost killed one of my dad's friends because he was so protective over the house. That guy was at our house every day and played with the dog, but because he came into the yard when we weren't home- our dog missed his jugular and ripped his cheek instead. You don't want a highly protective one, unless you want to eventually put it down.

Most dogs will be be protective over their owners- if you scream or sound like you are getting hurt- they will come to help. All of our dogs, no matter what the breed, would growl or actually bite if someone was playing rough with any of us, and we don't care about protectiveness.

Do you know that if a robber comes into your house and your dog bites them, they can (and probably will) sue you, AND WIN!! That's the ridiculous society we live in!! Your dog would protect you, but you don't want him attacking any person he doesn't know....that is just a lawsuit waiting to happen, then the dog will be put to sleep because of you! Hope you take all this into consideration

oh so many ways to answer this. why do u want her to attack if u not there. protecting ur belongings, they are replaceable u r not. in our state at least if someone breaks into u house and your dog attacks them they can actually sue u. i think that is wrong but thats the law. I have an akita that is overly protective. he would fight to the death for me ad definettly be intimidating and bark alot. some one did break in once and he kept him in the corner. the police said the burg was trapped there six hours. my mothers rott did the same thing. training them to attack when your not there is a dangerous thing. Talk to some one who trains for schutzhund.

hi i have three rotties my self all are very soft with no signs of agresion i think it is in a dogs nature weather it will attack or not rotties are very protective dogs as i am sure you are aware it is how you bring them up i am sure you will not be robbed if you make people aware that you have a fearsome dog put up signs saying she is nasty and that should keep them away also dont you worry she may well turn on you one day as once you make her nasty theres no going back good luck

some dogs just have the personality to attack to protect their owns. sometimes when the owners answers are super nice to their dogs, the dogs love you enough to protect you from everyone
