Candied carrots, take a 1 lb bag of baby carrots and cut them in half. Place in a shallow baking dish. Take a 1/2 stick of butter and cut up in small pieces and sprinkle over carrots, then sprinkle brown sugar over the top. Bake until carrot reach desired doneness.
For your starch, try some simple rice. You have all of that sweet with the carrots and the roast that you need something that does not have such a strong flavor. You can always use the juice from the roast to pour over the rice to add some additional flavor.
For a salad take grape tomatoes, cut in half, cucumber slices, green onions and one sliced onion. Spinkle this with salt and pepper and add olive oil and balasamic vinegar mix this all together and let sit a room temp before serving. You have got your sweet and savory all in one meal. Good luck...

Rice pilaf or new potatoes with butter and parsley is always nice. You also might want to serve a salad and a side dish of chunky applesauce with chopped pineapple for the pork. Have a great dinner!

A brocolli, cheese and rice casserole would be great. You can find a million recipes on the web or just use Rice a Roni (prepared) put it in a casserole dish and put some buttered bread crumbs or crushed corn flakes with butter over it and bake. Simple and great !

Corn or homemade maccaroni & cheese. I slow cooked a ham in apple juice & brown sugar once, it was sweet too, and we had mac & cheese with it. It was really good. But I suggest making it yourself, don't use a box.
