so you slept under the whole in the ozone too???
Fistly prepare have a tube of after sun gel (with aelo) kept in the fridge, apply this regullarly to keep the skin from blistering and cracking, also use washers wet with cold water from the fridge applied straight to the sunburnt patch, if this is on your back try a cold bath instead.
the pain will ease after a day or two, then be prepared for the itching from the peeling skin.
I guess the best cure is not to get so burnt in the first place, grin.
good luck and i hop this helps....

Hi Chloe,
I'm from Aust too. Last year I used some sports tape on my ankle and ripped it off without thinking about it. When I went to the beach 4 days later my legs got burnt and where the tape had been must have been missing skin, because the sunburn was really bad.
I ended using lots of skin coolents (like the banana boat vanilla smelling spray in a green bottle. Great to put in the fridge and then use) but thick gooey Aloe Gel from the Body shop was wonderful.
Probably won't help with the pain that much, but will help with less peeling too.

Start with the kitchen, use white vinegar on a clean cloth, dab the vinegar gently over the burnt area. Absolutely don't use a wiping motion as can cause micro tears and lead to infection. The vinegar will also help to cool some of the heat from the skin. Apply small ice packs wrapped in dish towels to the effects areas also. What you are trying to do here is to basically stop the cooking of the skin as is continues even after you've come in out of the sun. Finally, apply aloe vera gel. This is best if you can find it at the druggist combined with a low level lidocaine to help take out some of the pain and apply liberally and often. If you need to shower later today use water as cool as you can and if you have it unscented soap. This will help to keep the skin irritation down and then reapply the aloe vera gel. Don't forget to drink plenty of water and avoid alcoholic beverages for the next few days as you've thrown your body into a shock and will need to rehydrate it. Good luck.

My aunty is a nurse, and her suggestion is to jump straight into a hot shower, as hot as you can stand.
As soon as you get out, start slathering sunburn cream on thickly in the sunburnt areas. Keep the sunburn cream up for a day or 2, should reduce the redness, then start piling on the moisturiser or baby oil to try and reduce peeling.
Don't EVER rub straight aloe vera onto sunburn, and it can apparently cause severe infection and sometimes allergic reactions. Hope this helps, my nose is peeling as we speak from a good old dose of windburn!

Lots of cold showers to stop the burning. Then an after sun care from a pharmacy. Preferably with Aloe Vera in the ingredients, which is a soothing product. Try and get a gel as a cream can feel quite heavy on the skin. Try not to wear too tight clothing.

Firstly, have a shower - generally a WARM shower (not a cold one).
Lay down in a cool room.
If you have Calamine lotion, get somebody to apply it.
If you have Aloe Vera, then get somebody to apply it instead of Calamine lotion.
Stay out of the sun for a week at minimum to let your skin heal.
Sleep with no shirt on, but make sure you don't sleep on any sheets which have been cleaned recently (washing chemicals can make sunburn worse).

apply used tea bags that are still damp, dabbing them on the affected area.later a cool bath with some sapoderm soap(you will find this at most large supermarkets)this is a medicated soap, now for some tomatoes to be cut in half so you can rub softly over the burned area and leave for about 2-3 hours.make sure to be drinking lots of water and stay in the shade and dont forget your painkillers.get well soon,i know how you feel,i live on the beachside.ps: some nappy rash cream works well for really bad areas, this is good for night time.

oops! ok im aussie too! do you have a garden? if so get an aloe vera leaf, cut the side spikes off carefully .open it up rub a knife or spoon over the gel centre and apply it generously.
if you have any sort of body lotion preferably a mild one apply that a bit later. if you want.
also a bath with bi carb can soothe-( tepid water!)
or mix a pure tea tree oil/water combo say 8 drops to a litre? and dab that on with a soft sponge.
the aloe heals, and softens split skin-- the t/toil adds antibacterial and anti itch assistance,
nothing will stop you peeling!
and...dont do it again :-)
