I just bought a home and it has a ceiling fan that works just fine and instead of replacing it with a new one I was thinking of just changing it up a littile. Can I just buy dfferent blades and paint the rest?

Yes. At home Depot and Lowes they have "accessories" for your ceiling fans. Including blades.

Oh!...you can get it "remote controlled" like we did too!

Most of the time if the blade is decorated on one side, it will be flat on the other. It would be a lot cheaper to flip the blades and paint them, plus that way you can pick the color. You can also buy a new light fixture relatively cheap. We did that with several of the fans in our house and they look new!

yes, there are websites where you can buy just the blades, some even "fit over the top" of the old blades (slide on), I have seen them looking like rattan, tropical types. Check Home Depot, or yes, I have painted the blades as well, easy to unscrew and take off to paint.

I had really good luck with the same project. I took all of the brass hardware off, sanded it very lightly. Sprayed on a light coat of primer and then 2 light coats of paint. It looks awesome! I am also working on all of the other brass light fixtures in the house. Sure is cheaper than replacing them. Good luck

Sure! You can paint the blades and change out the glass bulb covers for a different look.
