Sure I can. I've served in the military in several countries in Europe and Asia. Many Americans go to a foreign country with an attitude that the people there ought to respect them just because they come from America. They don't take the time to learn about the people or the culture, they get drunk, run around shooting their mouths off, being arrogant and disrespectful and generally acting like idiots. When natives of a country see people from the U.S. act like that they start to think that ALL Americans are like that.

In the United States we have our own stereotypes about people from other countries only here we call it racism. Americans noticed that people from Mexico would be lying down in the middle of the day sleeping and not knowing that they have a practice of taking a siesta in order to rest during the hottest hours of the day the rumor went around that Mexicans were "lazy".
