Eucerin. It's very thick and it works really well. When my daughter was one she would get spots of eczema on her hands and cheeks. This worked really well. Also, try not to bathe your child everynight. The water is extremely drying.

Our girl had ezcema pretty bad when she was a baby.
You have to be real careful what you use because it can aggravate it even worse- I think we used Eucerin some, but I think hydrocortison cream is the only thing that works- but some moisturizing creams can make the problem worse, so again, be real careful what you use. an oatmeal bath is real gentle and good.
aside from a prescription steroid. i'm not sure how old she was when it became so bad we had to take her in to the doc.
But you probably should do that, if you have concerns and questions, because so many things potentially could be causing flare ups- your laundry detergent, bath soap, diet, etc etc.

Oatmeal Bath
When baby's skin gets very itchy, an oatmeal bath can be very soothing and help skin heal. Put two cups of oats in a food processor (or use a coffee grinder) and grind them into a powder. Add the oatmeal powder to a running bath of warm (not hot) water and stir well. Soak in the oatmeal bath for 15 minutes, rinse with clean water and dab the skin dry with a soft towel. When baby's eczema breakouts are bad, it is safe to sooth them with an oatmeal bath twice daily.

Buy Polytar Emollient and use in the bathwater.
Alter your child's diet......Take him or her off all products that contain wheat as this is often the cause of eczema, after that Dairy products could also be the root cause.......so maybe try putting the child on soya milk or goat's milk. Stop cheeses and eggs.
E45 cream is very good but even better is a silcox base cream which is cheap and effective.
Do not bathe the child too much.
Oilatum is also a very good product to use in the bathwater but remember to pat the child's skin dry after using it.
Reduce your central heating temperature as well.
Finally reduce all salt and sugar intake in your child's diet.
All my children have sufferd with eczema, asthma and also psoriasis...All threee ailments are linked. Do try to avoid the use of steroids if possible.
Good Luck....hope this information helps you.

Transfer factors!
they aren't a drug or at all harmful to you or your child, a friend of Min's 1 1/2 yr old daughter had really bad eczema and i suggested TF and she has all cleared up, she uses the juice because her daughter doesn't like swallowing or chewing tablets and she likes the taste of the juice though she waters it down. and then there is also the renewall gel to put directly on the sores to sooth them.

she has since told 2 of her friends about TF and it has also helped there kids with eczema and with the cold and flu's that goes around the child care centre he goes to.

I don't know if it cures it because they haven't stopped taking it because it helps with other things as well but it definitely stops it in its tracks!
hope this helps :).

Eucerin does nothing for my son, not for his excema anyway. I'm at work so I don't have the name of the ointment that his doctor prescribed but it seems to work fairly well. I've found, recently, that Aveeno is the best thing out there. It seems to work better than most of the prescriptions we've tried. The oatmeal bath they make is great (but it leaves a mess in the tub afterward). Make sure you don't bathe him/ her every day, that will only dry their skin out even more. I would try the Aveeno, I've had excema since I was a baby, myself, and it works great for my skin also. Good luck!
