Girlfriend, i had a lumber fusion back in Aug. 2005 and it got me so out of whack, my body, i lost 2 inches in height, blah, blah, blah........anyway, i just had a total hip replacement bc of the back fusion and i also had to have knee surgery so that they COULD do the HIP rehab......what i'm trying to tell you is that YOU JUST NEVER REALLY KNOW??????????? Sometimes my legs will feel like they are on FIRE!!!!!!! That is NERVE DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!!! and i've had the numbness. They say it takes like a whole year to fully recover from that surgery so you have a way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wish you could give more details about your fusion. At any rate, give the symptoms about 3 months to subside post-op. If not, then that nerve root causing the pain and numbness must have been severely compromised.

You don’t have to get worried about it. It could be because there is not enough blood circulation due to perhaps disuse atrophy or perhaps due to the fact that part of your body was at rest for two or three hours. You can find good home remedies for this. I did find some at http://ailments.in/peripheralneuropathy.html

It's too early to tell - it will take 6-8weeks for things to heal, so stay positive!
