In the New Testament it says that Jesus healed the sick and the lame and he regarded them as brother and sister. It also makes reference to the "Charriot of the Lord". Is it such a leap of faith to think that this "Charriot" was in fact a wheelchair?

You hot the nail on the head there. It was a wheelchair, and furthermore, it was motorised.

Yes, that's a ridiculous leap of faith to make, particularly given that most people still didn't use wheels in the time of Jesus, horses and donkeys tended to drag platforms along the ground. The modern wheelchair was invented in 1932 and until relatively recently the handicapped were regarded as some kind of work of the devil so it's highly unlikely that anybody was going around in a wheelchair in the days of Jesus Christ.

Believe in the way that makes you feel better, but I'd say that's a quantum leap.

I have seen religious people create whole dogmas based on more flimsy evidence.
so, yeah, go ahead and think that, spread the word, whatever sewage floats your boat, doesnt bother me.
(just, please, dont come knocking at my door trying to convert me to the church of the legless lamb, or whatever)

This question makes me wonder... if he could heal the sick and injured, don't you think he would heal himself too? So, no i don't think he was an amputee.
