Give yourself a time limit of like two weeks. In this time try and talk to him and observe the way he responds. Talk to him about how you feel or you can give him a friendly gift. When the two weeks ens change the strategy. Avoid him like a plague, keep busy and when he invites you anywhere tell him you are swamped.

Try to study him if he is not interested there is no point in that try to get someone who cares about you.
