Instead of using shampoo, just use a good conditioner that moisturizes her scalp. Do this twice a day for a week and then once every day for a week, and then once every other day. Also make sure she is drinking plenty of water. Make sure you use a professional product they can only be bought from a hair salon...

Dandruff can be caused by 3 different things: an allergic reaction to something she is using (the body starts shedding excessive skin to get rid of what it doesn't want), a fungus, or simply dryness. The scalp being too dry is the most common so start there first. Go to a salon and ask about products for moisturizing. If that doesn't work add tea tree oil to water and apply to your daughter's scalp. Tea tree is anti fungal. Do that daily and watch for an improvement. They make tea tree shampoo that might help, but I don't know that they contain enough to be effective.
Also look into what you are using. Did you start using something different before the dandruff started. It could be that it is irritating her skin or she has a mild allergy to it.

If your child washes her own hair, she may be using too much shampoo and not rinsing well enough. (The dried shampoo can come off in flakes that look like dandruff.) Show her how to use only a dime-size dollop of shampoo, and tell her to spend twice as much time rinsing it out as she does lathering it in.
Other possibilities are conditions that can cause scales on the skin, including the scalp, such as eczema or psoriasis.
If your child's flaking is accompanied by hair loss in a particular spot and she has swollen glands, she may have ringworm, which is caused by a fungus.
I would recommend seeing a doctor. A child's scalp is more sensitive then a adults and may not react the same to certain shampoos.

If you used all the dandruff shampoo's with tar extracts (Neutrogena's T-Gel is the best), then she may have something than dandruff. I would take her to a dermatologist. Good Luck! :)

Take her to a dermatologist, Nizoral is great for dandruff, i believe you can get some otc, but you can also get a prescription for it, which is probably a little stronger. Are you definite it is dandruff...is it dry/brittle and flaky or moist/soft and flaky...You could also use a tar shampoo, if you haven't already, but it is really smelly.
