Saturday morning when I checked on the cat, I saw a stain on the rug. It appeared to be blood. But I didn't see it the night before. It was a small red stain. I don't know how it got there. I've inspected both cats twice for cuts anywhere and didn't see anything. Do you have any ideas on how it got there?

Marshall seems to be less active and eating a lot, and drink a bit of water. He seems to be gaining weight. I don't want him to get fat. Wylie seems to be fine. Is there any way to put him on a diet, while give the same cat food to Wylie? Did stress make him that way? How do I get him to be more active to lose weight?

Marshall and Wylie are male. Yes they have some cat toys. He does love to play with my cat's catnip stocking toy with a bell. Does that count?

Please take your cat to the Vet ASAP
Marshall could have a blockage on crystals in his urine both of those things are very serious and can be life threatening if not treated on time.

I'm not trying to scare you, and it could be nothing but for the sake of the cats please take him to the Vet.

Besides going to the vet ASAP check out the web on pet foods.Type in "what is in my pets food" most store bought foods (yes Ive read them all) have corn ,(did you ever hear of a vegetarian cat?)or meat by products, meat digest, all these are considered not acceptable for human eating as they come from diseased, dead or dieing animals. They are NOT good quality sources of protein which is a cats main diet .Switching to a higher quality food will get kitty to eat less, produce less and less smelly poo. I have 3 cats on a quality product use the cheapest litter I can buy and no one has ever mentioned or noticed even when asked that there was a kitty box around. It is more expensive .I pay about $8 for a 5 pound bag but it last my 3 adults almost 3 weeks and they always get a clean bill of health

Someone else mentioned that the blood could be caused by a bladder crystal blockage. You should verify that this is not the case by a visit to the vet. Not ingesting enough water is the major cause- always try to make sure your cats drink a substantial amount of water.

As for a diet change, what food are you feeding? You may want to switch to a high quality food (if you are not feeding one already) to eliminate fillers and substandard prodcuts such as Wellness, Innova, etc. If you only want to switch Marshall's food simply feed them seperately. If Marshall is overweight, free feeding should be out of the question.

Do you have any cat "contraptions" at home for them to play and keep busy? Like a cat condo with toys, etc? This would be a good way for them not only to play together, but for you to interact with them.

If one cat of your cats is a female, she could be bleeding from her vagina. Most cats do not bleed much, if at all, when they come into heat, but some do a bit. If she is spayed, then consider a vaginal infection of some kind. Either way, keep an eye on her and if it persists, take her to the vet.

Regarding diet, you can try limiting the amount of food he gets. Feed twice a day instead of free choice all day. As for exercise, does he have cat toys?

circulate get some oxyclean. Use a tablespoon in a warm cup of water. Pour it on the stained carpet and enable set for a minute. Blot and rub with a towel and repeat if mandatory. while the entire stain is out pour on sparkling water positioned a folded towel on the carpet and step on it. this might compress the spongy layer decrease than the carpet and stress the final to the water up into the towel. save flipping the towel to a dry area until eventually not greater water is absorbed by skill of the towel. I even have used this on espresso, blood and purple wine and it has worked in all 3. do no longer use bleach on your carpet! My husband did that to our carpet to get out wine and it made it a bad yellow colour. So now I actually have a white carpet with a yellow stain as a exchange of a maroon stain. yet there's no longer something like bleach to get out blood in white cotton cloths. i think of this is only synthetics it turns yellow. So sorry approximately your ill kitty, i'm hoping he's greater advantageous quickly, sounds rather extreme, has he been to the vet?

I find that portioning the food is the best diet. Put out two bowls, each with the amount that they should eat in one sitting. I like to feed twice a day in the morning and in the evening. If you have the time watch what they do and pick up the food say 20 minutes after you put it out. They will eventually pick up on the fact that they need to eat when and what is offered.

for the blood stain... that might not be from the cats. you could take into consideration that it could be a cut from your brother, or rat or something that bleeds. It definitely cannot just appear on a rug, would it?!

for the diet of your pet, well you could use some exercise such as walking jogging. You can bring your cat with you. Don't you think it could work on a double purpose.. healthy exercise for you and your cat!

the blood could be from hard stool. when u feed the cats watch them to make sure that both are getting the same amount of food and only feed them twice a day don't keep the food out allday long your one cat is over feeding and making it harder for him to have a bowel movement but keep an eye on the litter box if it shows up more often then try to switch to soft food if that doesn't help call a ver

Go to the store a get a Flea brush and brush them. They just might have fleas. They also just might got in a fight and plus the hair might of covered the cut.

READ THIS! 2 pounds on the cat is like 20 pounds on us. go to the store and try science diet and cut down on treats. if that doesn't work go to the doctors.
