I have to be careful to not let any important paper be where whe can get them. She doesn't eat it that often she just tears it up. Anyone have any idea of how to stop her.

You can't stop the cat. I think she likes the sound of the paper. She is just playing.
She will stop only if you stop leaving papers where she can get to them.
Try getting her a paper bag toy, (saw one at Petsmart store) It's made from a material that sounds like paper, but your cat won't be able to tear it apart or eat it. Of course I don't know your cat, maybe she can, but it will take her longer. Or just give her a paper bag to play in.
Maybe it will at least distract her from tearing up your important papers if you forget to put them where she can't get too them. Good luck, hope this helps.

Mine does it too. Actually, it seems like the more attention he gets from tearing up the papers, even though I will say "No! Don't do that!" , the more likely he is to do it. That makes me think that he is just bored. I also think he just plain enjoys it... the sound and maybe the feel of the paper ripping. It's a game for him, and I think he likes to get caught at it. As soon as he hears me coming he takes off running and then looks back at me with a wild gleam in his eyes. I think different cats have different temperments and this just happens to be something he likes. It seems like if I ignore his behavior he doesn't do it quite as much. I still make sure to keep important papers far out of reach as a precaution.

your cat is bored or wants your attention get the cat some cat toys and when it goes after your papers tap him or her on the but and tell him or her no and give him or her the cat toy u got also a clawing post will help to keep your cats mind off your paperwork and on play time

i think your cat is enjoying its self by tearing up your paper but if you want her to stop give a catnip or toys then the cat can be happy and you too.

Cats love to play wit paper.....u can giv her some toys like a small ball .....that whould keep her away frm ur papers ....

My cat does too, you should see the battle we have when i am trying to do my blls, I don't know what on earth the electric Co. must think of me....that is her favorite...
She just seems to get like crazy, I think she hates news and bills more than i do!!!! I think it is just cat being cat, and I don't know about yours but mine is non-responsive to dicipline...!!!!

I think I have an idea how to stop her, she might wanna play with somethin, so try putting her fav toy in front of her.

My cat does it too. I think it's just because it's so white and bright that it hurts their eyes and they rip it apart. I hope it's just a phase, though!
