how do market sugar profitably?
i mean...sugar is such a standard thing. what kind of marketing tactics can u use to for promoting a sugar brand?

any links available? any sugar brands i can refer to?

The first thing I would do is think about water. Water is also a very common thing but look at what marketeers have done with it. Today people pay more for water than they pay for gasoline (even tho they can get it for almost nothing from the kitchen faucet!) and most will swear by a specific brand. How did these companies do this? By playing on people's fears of artificial ingredients and by showing where this pure, natual water comes from. The same ideas can work for sugar. I would run ads that show people where sugar comes from -- show the sugar cane in the field and how the sugar is visable when you cut into the stalks. Talk about how natural it is and how sugar is part of all naturally good things from apples and oranges to berries. Talk about how sugar turns grape juice into wine. Talk about how with your brand of sugar, you can taste the difference because of how it is grown, harvested, and converted. Sugar makes life sweet!
