Take notes in class, sequester yourself in a quiet room, shutting off the TV and computer, crack your books and concentrate on the task at hand. Nothing but applying your abilities full throttle will work as effectively.

if your book has some answers in the back, write down some odd numbered problems that are similar to the ones that are going to be on the test. solve them. check the back for the answers after your done. for the ones you've done wrong, try to do them over again untill you get it right. sometimes books have an example. copy down the equation and solve. then check your answer. if you're wrong, look at how the book solved it.
