I think we are,but not all Christians are

In this respect, I think you're right that Muslims are more tolerant although I have never heard a Christian or a Jew "insult" Mohammed, personally.

Jesus and Moses are prophets in all three religions where as Jews and Christians do not regard Mohammed to be a prophet so it's understandable that Muslims appear to be the more reverend of the three religions in this respect.

This said, I think that the reaction of the Muslim world, which often occurs months after a given event, is often the result of manipulation by Muslim governments and not a genuine manifestation of grievance, therefore, in my eyes, it often lacks credibility.

If I were a Muslim, I'd be far more interested in trying to find a solution so that Sunnis and Shias can live in peace than to concern myself too much with the way my religion is perceived by other believers - there's no place for pride in religion, it's about spirituality and faith; your religion is not your football team.

I do see a lot of Christians insulting or denying Mohammed/Islam. At the same time, this probably isn't a fair generalization. I'm sure there are a great many Christians who feel no ill will towards Muslims and/or any other religious figures; they simple feel that Jesus is the "correct" figure.

On the other hand, I don't really see much of the opposite - Muslims against Jesus and/or Moses. However, I can't readily identify Muslims, for I might simply read their comments and believe them to be agnostic/atheist.

It's still awful that people throw about such insults, but if you feel that your prophet/religious figure is the correct path for you to follow, don't let the ignorance of others bother you.

I don't insult Prophet Mohammad, and I'm Christian. He was a great leader and a great thinker, and this came from someone who was illiterate. That alone is a reason for me to respect Him.

Sadly, for those who insult the Prophet, I think they missed out on a great role model. I don't mean Jesus and Moses are not great - they are all great models of great virtues; Jesus as a model of unconditional love and Moses as a model of obedience. It's just that I take whatever that is good from them and try to emulate them.

The people who embraced these religions are the real problem, however. If they realised the similarities between these three religions, they will realise that comparison is useless, pretty much like children showing off their birthday presents while in fact, the presents came from the same shop. But when they realised this, I'm afraid it will be too late.

Because more fuss is made out of so called insults by muslims than christians & jews make out of similar slights. Muslims need to learn to calm down and not go running out with an AK-47 the instance some one expresses a personal opinion which they take to be an insult which was probably never intended as such. Chill out

We accept prophet Moses and prophet Jesus as İslam prophets
and what we believe and worship they did same.We dont accept
Moses and Jesus and all other prophets had different religions. They were all Muslims and their believers were all Muslims.Of course we respect them and suppose we lived in their century surely we would join to their community. But we never accept Jesus as a God.That is to share only God creator hollieness and this is a very big sin.

Let us not fall into the pitfall of generalization because some christians and jews have respect tyo Muhammed but Islam is not tolerant with disrespect at all and to be a muslim we have to respect all prohets PBUthem all. maybe because muslims don't feel threatened by an other religion and have the utmost high respect to all prohets.

Well its more than just being tolerant.

Tolerance implies that you do not agree with someone but yet you chose to shut up and let them say whatever they want to say anyway.

Islam recognizes Moses and Jesus as prophets, it makes it compulsory to believe in previous scripture and prophets in order to be a complete beleiver in God. And Islam makes sure they get respected, because even if their respective followers might disagree with me, they, Moses and Jesus, do not belong to anyone but God.

And since God sent them both, the same way he sent Muhammad, He has asked us to show them the due respect and love they deserve.

Excuse me but What exactly did the Danish cartoons imply???????
and what is happening on Yahoo ans.???
Islam teaches us too respect all religions and not to degrade them
plus
As muslims we believe that there were more than 100000 prophets sent by Allah which include Prophet Jesus, Moses,Abraham,David, Yousaf(pbuh)
therefore we cannot show disrespect to any one of the prophets

Insult? i beg to differ...rather Christians do not however believe in mohammad. But to muslims, Jesus and Moses are their prophets for crying out loud... Jesus to us is more that a prophet....He is God.
Tolerance? that is very subjective... but we see muslim radicals bombing and demanding seperate states in areas like e.g Thailand, Philippines..... Indonesia they kill christians. I am in no way implying islam promotes violence. There are evidences which calls for a verdict.

Generalising is not a good thing.
Try to keep the questions more positive.
We are all deep down the same, with the same wants and needs.
I say lets focus on our similarities rather.
I hope you have a great day with family and friends.
Cheers.
