I don't get out very often, and when I do its at this local bar that can only be described as a dive. I perform at karaoke night, and Im constantly told how much moxy it takes to get up in front of people and sing. In this respect I have confidence. I have always been able to sing and I am quite comfortable when I do. My history with girls however is shameful in every sense of the word, and after a few drinks an attempt to talk to a girl I am interested in always turns into an unparalleled defeat. I've always been rather emotional so obviously this is heightened with inebriation. I tend to bring up my insecurities with a girl, and at the first sign of this openness the girls become disinterested, and often times downright nasty. Now I've heard countless girls praise the virtue of honesty with resounding acclaim, but I'm a bit confused about why they feel they can be so selective in the type of honesty they prefer, and also why a lack of confidence is considered so unattractive.

In order to do anything in life,,,no matter if it is singing or talking to people,,,you have to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF,,,,that is what matters most,,,and here is a question for you,,,,Why sweat over girls who don't appreciate your honesty and except you for who you are,,,,?????,,, They obviously don't see past all of the superficial things in their lives,,,and will probably choose a jerk,,,,because he looks and acts like Brad Pitt,,,instead of someone that is honest and not so quite sure what he is doing,,,but is using what little confidence he has to give it a shot,,,and instead of recognizing your feelings,,,,SNUB YOU,,,,
Why bother with them???? You deserve someone to see you for you,,,and I would not let them get to me,,,just blow them off,,,when it is meant to be you will meet that special someone and you will know right away,,and she will see in you all you are as a person,,,and except you the WAY YOU ARE!!!!!!

I personally think honesty is a turn-on and would not turn you away because I am an honest person too,,,and I believe that without honesty,,,what do you have???? alot of NOTHING!!!

Keep your head up and keep singing,,,,and eventually you will find that person to sing to that will turn into a never ending ballad of love for you and her,,,and she will be the lucky one!!!

GOOD LUCK,
DAPHNE

A lack of confidence in unattractive because most women want a man who is strong, outgoing and independent -- in order to be these things, you have to have confidence. No one likes a self-pitying whiner who doesn't even like himself.

And my advice for you -- stop going to bars to meet girls. As a general rule, girls don't like talking to whiny, emotional drunks. It makes you look weak and like you have major issues, and yes, it scares girls away.

Confidence brings security. Women like that security.

You seem OK when you are sober, so why not stay that way?
