Start by walking. Try to take different routes so the scenery varies, but know how far you go on each route by driving it with your car first. You will burn almost the same amount of calories walking as you do jogging but it takes more time to go the same distance.

walk for 30 minutes every other day for a week, drink water, then at the start of the next week, walk for 30 minutes and jog for 2 minutes, again do some stretching. Week 3: increase the jogging time to 5 minutes, and so on.
Currently, I jog for 30 minutes and walk for 20, 3 times a week, the first time I did jog I had pains all over the shins and thighs because I hadn't been physically active for a year and a half, and hadn't followed the right stretching measures, but I motivated myself by joining a gym so I've paid up and can't not go for my excercise session. I just convince myself each time I managed to jog the full 25 minutes instead of the 30, that I've warded off some nasty illnesses just by doing the jogging. You have to want to jog the full 2 minutes and congratulate yourself once its done, jogging makes me feel I've achieved something and its personal, you don't have to interact with people, and you can have "thinking time" whilst you're walking and jogging. But the above info is appropriate only if you haven't got any underlying health issues, if otherwise, then you need to find a trainer or ask your doctor to permit you to excercise. I only ran on a treadmill as I felt the outside pavement was a bit too hard for my foot as it touches down, obviously don't run if you feel pain or are dizzy, headache or out of breath, .

First, bring along an MP3 player, a CD Player, an I-Pod, a fm radio, whatever. Any music source. It distracts from exercise a little more.

Try going to a secluded area of town, or your neighborhood. You might wanna jog either very early in the morning or in the night, when it starts to calm down. It's hard to jog in front of a large group of people, which is why you'd want to be alone.

Start off with about a half mile of just walking to wherever, doing whatever feels comfortable for you. Some people I know will sing to their music as they jog, others curse and complain, and some just talk to themselves.

After the first half mile, walk back to your home. About each week start going a little further and further, until you get comfortable to the surroundings. Then you basically start over, except now instead of walking, your doing a slow jog. Go the half mile, come back home. The next time, go a little bit further, come back home.

Jog as many times a week as you can, trying to at least have 1 day to rest and rejuvinate yourself.

It is best to build it up first. I have had loads of injury because I have overdone it. Start fast walking for 10 mins and jog for 5 mins at firts and then build it up by 10% each week. Soon you'll be runing marathons.

I screwed my right knee cartlidge up and now I need to have surgery to put it right. Stick to grass or soft ground if you can.

However for general fitness and weight loss it is one of the best forms of excercise. You will burn alot of calories as well.

Running is quite boring on your own so strap on an ipod and consider getting the Nike chip to go in your shoe. This gives you vocal feedback through your headphones on distance covered, speed and calories burned. It also helps to keep you motivated as you can upload your runs to Nike + and compare to others.

Everyone says break yourself in gently and they are right. Don't do too much too soon and limit to 3x per week for the first 6 weeks. If you work hard and keep consistant there are a lot of rewards to be had.

You are clearly a lazy person. that is not an insult i promise you. We are all guilty of being lazy.
I would recomend dont go jogging, I know what you want.
Go swimming instead. assuming you can swim do 8 lengths to start with, and go as often as you can, slowly build up to 20 lengths in your own time, then you may feel the urge yourself to jog. I actually think swimming is better for you.
Diet is important too, lots of tomatoes and olives, liver is good too.

E mail me for more advice, its free I promise.

If you are large breasted then avoid jogging as even with a half decent sports bra- you put too much pressure on the delicate bust tissue- and you don't want to damage that!

Always been told that jogging is bad for your knees and ankles. Got a friend who power walks regularly and works great for her. Plugged into music she walks for miles.....
Good Luck.
