Matthew 22:36-45 (New International Version)
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Unfortunately, even in protestant and evangelical churches, God is viewed as the "10 commandment God". Whereas the picture should be one of Father and son or daughters. Instead of viewing Him as a spiritual "police man", we should view God as a "lover".
God wants us to be with Him and know Him as a Father. And be Perfect like He is Perfect.

Love God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your body,
AND
Love your neighbor as yourself.
What Jesus said when He was asked what is the greatest commandment.
You must understand how the Bible defines "love." It is not a mushy, squishy feeling you have. Love is an ACT, it is something you DO.
John 3:16, for God so loved the world, THAT He....
I John 3:16, by this we know love, because He was WILLING to lay down His life for us...
N.T. - Christians will be known by their LOVE for one another.

I'll tell you what this fairy tail god wants from us... It wants us to suffer and it wants us to be in constant fear of making our own choices.. It wants control over our essential beings to feed the ugly monster that it is.. It is so wrong to believe that this so called bible could be truth and the fact that you have freaks running around claiming all suppossible truth of whats wanted can confuse anyone... you should think outside of the box and decide whats best for you through you and only through you...

A lot of good answers. I like Micah 6:8. To do justly to love mercy, and to walk humbly with YHVH.
