No i've never heard of being able to put the xp desktop settings to a windows 2000 O/S. But what u can do is, if u have enough hard drive space, you can dual boot your laptop with windows 2000 and xp. Depending on what your gonna use the xp for, you'll need about a minimum of 4 gb of hard drive. I dual booted my pc, which has 250 gb hard drive, to run on xp media center edition and xp professional (for school). I created a partition for the xp pro operating system with 15 gb.

First, correct click on the taskbar and choose residences. The Taskbar and start up Menu residences window will open. right here, bypass to the starting up Menu tab and verify the classic start up Menu decision. in case you want to personalize the products that seem contained in the starting up Menu, click the personalize... button. in case you don't want to personalize some thing, merely press the ok button. contained in the personalize classic start up Menu window you've a lot of configuration recommendations: you may upload or get rid of start up menu products, you may type them or you may enable particular shortcuts like the Run or signal off buttons.
