ok.. this is what i do. i use my treadmill every other day. first i started to just walk for 30mins and then gradulally increased the time and then the speed. then i started to run at least 30mins and increased the time and speed gradually. Since our body is used to sit on the couch and slack away, it will refuse to obey to the sudden change. That is why you have to start slowly, dont push it to do something it has never done all of a sudden.

Go to the gym. Its a wonderful place, really. When you go there often, you'll realize you could not live without hitting the gym:)

By the way, doing some housework also helps.

Slowly change your diet too. Breakfast is a must. Do not over eat fruits or just vegetables just because they are healthy - a mistake most people do. Eat everything, enjoy everything but in moderation - a well-balanced meal. Have orange juice, wholemeal bread (2-3 slices) with something - i normally make this gravy to use it as a filling or you could just have oats with bananas/strawberry with it. Have a nutritious lunch + fruits. A very light dinner should be alright. Cut down on all the junk foods, thrown them all right away. Have fruits or salands for snacks. Drink plenty of water before and after meal, that way you dont overeat. Since you are a vegetarian, have tofu/soya bean curd. This is the only vegetarian food that has complete protein - something meat/poultry has but not vegetables and fruits. Reduce on that oil and sugar. NO more coke not even diet coke and other soft drinks. Drink fruit juice instead.. pure ones please not those processed ones.

Go to the library or to a bookshop and get yourself a diet food cook or somethin like that which helps you to loose weight. The more you read from various books/magazines the better your idea and also you will know what you and your body need. Net is a good place too yet some sites are full of false reports and what not. So yeah, read from various sites and you will know.

Dont expect a drastic change in your weight in a week. Wait for a month. And if you find it hard to stick with the diet plan find out why is it and make changes to it. REMEMBER, start slow and then gradually make changes.. our body has a mind of its own and refuses to change right away. Play with it, triuck it and make it do what/how you want it to be.

Focus on increasing natural food. If you can't recognize it (as an apple, or...) don't eat it. (That would be extreme, but try to do more of that) Whole fruits and vegetables, more raw will help, should help keep you on the path to health.
