I will be in the tourism fair in Tel Aviv, the 7th and 8th of February.
Is there anybody else going there?
It’s first time for me to travel to Israel and I am a little nervous, as I’ve seen on TV that another bomb exploded in Eilat.
My husband is very afraid for me and insists that I should stay at home, but it´s my job and it’s important for my future career to go... and I wanted to go to Israel all my life... I will arrive 4th and return 9th.
What can I see in 2 days??? (The 5th and 6th????)
Would it be best to rent a car and go around?? Is there a lot of traffic???
Any 1-day trips you can recommend??? (The hotel is in Tel Aviv)
What to see in Tel Aviv???

Yeah, definitely I will go. I always wanted to see Jerusalem... it’s one of my most important wishes... my Hebrew is very, very bad, we never use this language in family... unfortunately.

Plenty!
Tel Aviv-------
1. Museums:
Palmach Museum in Ramat Aviv, the north of TA (+++)
Eretz Yisrael Museum also in Ramat Aviv
Museum Ha'Tfutzot (=diaspora) in north TA
2. Ramat Aviv also has a nice designers' mall.
3.Tel Aviv University for a students' feel. Inside, the botanical gardens.
4. Carmel Market (next to N've Tzedek neighborhood)
Nachalat Binyamin, and artists market (+++)
5. If the weather permits, go to the beach :) although I think it will be a little cold.
6. Namal (=port) Tel-Aviv, the boardwalk has artsy stores, restaurants and bars.
7. Jaffa (south of TA). Everything. It's an old neighborhod of Arabs, Jews and Christians.
8. Ezrieli Towers, in the heart of Tel Aviv. Big mall there.

North------
Zichron Ya'akov/Caesariya for a day trip
Tzfat/Tveriya for 2 days.
Haifa for a show, restaurant or an evening out.
I didn't mention the amazing beautiful places far north because I don't think it would be wise to waste time driving so long from TA. I just have to add- the Hermon mountain in the Golan Heights is beautiful this time of year!!

South-------
Ashdod for an evening out.
Jerusalem for two days. Well, Jerusalem forever...
Modi'in and the Hasmonean archeologist sites for a day.

So you see, it's sort of hard to tour Israel in two days :)...
I highly recommend using public transportation. Very clean, relatively cheap and it's the best way to meet real Israelis and to tour for free. English is a second language here, so it's ok if you don't know Hebrew well. Coming into Tel Aviv there's a lot of traffic, but when you're in, it's not that bad. It's hard to find parking spaces, though.
Inside Tel Aviv, you would use either the Dan bus service, or the Eged bus service.
However, if you have specific plans, perhaps it's better you rent a car--> sagal.co.il / hotcar.co.il

About the terrorist attack in Eilat...I can't express how angry I am with fanatical Islamists. The news says he slipped in from Jordan. The security-alert level in Israel has jumped a couple of notches. This sonofagun hit one of our most touristic cities, most tourists come to spend their cold winters in Eilat's amazing hotels and beaches. These terrorists want to hurt Israel by hurting its tourism. In a way, if you don't come, you're giving in to them. I understand if you don't come, though.
If you do- have fun!

both factors of Israel to stay away from are the acute North and South. Tel Aviv is a concepts remote from the worry zones the position in the previous this recent upsurge the stop hearth had under no circumstances been stated, so a chum operating in Israel has advised me. I comprehend that they are anticipating their next load of complications in February, even as there is an election or some thing.

I would strongly suggest you take a one day tour to Jerusalem
not drive on your own, you'll get lost and waste a lot of time. I think the hotel can suggest and arrange for your a tour
of Tel Aviv and a tour of Jerusalem (one each day) that will
give you the best opportunity to have a quick glance and tell
your husband not to worry, its safe to visit Israel, people are
getting killed everywhere around the world everyday (not
that its reassuring but just to get the proportions) and Israel is one of the safest places to visit. Have a lovely stay.
