Religion is some form of culture or a way of life. Whether it can bring happiness, it depends on individual and how u interpret the rules that come with it.

Much of happiness is choice.
As long as there are no great adverse affects currently happening in your life, only the typical life struggle and frustrations, you should be able for the most part, to choose your attitude.
Much of happiness is related to our expectations and our un-fulfilled expectations.
It is good to dream of realistic future positions you might like, but make sure you know what you have to give up to reach these goals.

I think that living realistically and humbly within your means, being reasonably content with what you have for the resources you control, (keeping in mind that it is ok to do things in order to improve our situations), is happiness.

I am a Catholic. I want to be honest with you. Religion will not bring you happiness. Neither will it give you prosperity. It might even increase your problems.
What it will do for you is give you a sense of purpose. We are not here just to eat, drink, be merry and die. There must be a reason why we are here. Religion will also connect you to that Being who gave us this life and help you enter his kingdom.

jesus promised that he comes to give people a more "fulfilling" life.
but his apostle said that WE of ALL Men are most MISERABLE.
the designs of pure and undefiled religion is to bring down the kingdom of God and the utopian society. if men were to truly believe such a promise of living for 200 thousand years in a society on earth can be accomplished. The only thing that destroys faith is Sin and those that follow evil will destroy all happiness.
Nevertheless the promises are there.

Pretending stuff is real when it's not can bring short-term happiness - but at what price? look at all the harm religion (mostly the abrahamic religions) have done to the world.

religion is man's search for God. Salvation is God's search for man and happiness is a mindset that you choose to have by the way you think. Happiness has nothing to do with religion, it does however have everything to do with a right relationship with God.

It can and does bring the most satisfying happiness known to man. Getting to know God and learning about Him and His Son, Jesus and God's Holy Spirit is the most exciting thing in this life. They are real young man, as real as you and me. I know it's hard to accept for some and many will never accept it. This is written in the book of Revelation which predicts the end times. Get to know your real Father and you will be as happy and excited as the rest of us. God Bless.

the true religion can bring you closer to your god , to be honest nothing makes you happy not money nor a lover nor kids nor castles .
only one thing which it is the religion that let you know the only god by worshiping him ,obeying his orders and to love him.
definitely it makes your life bright and pretty even if you own nothing :)
the religion which made me happy is Islam :)
