A growing minority of young Muslims are inspired by political Islam and feel they have less in common with non-Muslims than their parents do, a survey revealed.
The percentage who said they would prefer to send their children to Islamic state schools increased from 19% for over 55 year olds to 37% of 16-24 year olds.
The number who said they would prefer to live under Sharia law than British law increased from 17% of over-55s to 37% of 16-24 year olds.
According to the poll, 74% of 16-24 year olds prefer Muslim women to choose to wear the hijab compared with only 28% of over 55s.
And while 7% of all those surveyed "admire organisations like al Qaida that are prepared to fight the West", the figure increased from 3% of over 55s to 13% among 16-24 year olds.
Ms Mirza said: "There is clearly a conflict within British Islam between a moderate majority that accepts the norms of Western democracy and a growing minority that does not."
Why would this 'growing minority' not emigrate?

Confused people like 'Bubbles' are the root of the problem leading to deaths of innocents.
Those declaring a dislike of UK have a problem.
Supporting and extremist concept as these people clearly do is the problem. Sharia law is about cutting off hands and heads. It is about 'keeping women under control' Are you aware of whatt is happening in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc. etc. as you read this?

'Mahal' means to say that the UK is attracting these extremist people somehow.
If the UK stops providing the free housing, food, benefits, medical treatment etc. etc. to all and sundry, the UK would find itself like these peaceful lands.

'Mister' is still not aware that some are all too ready to express 'just a political opinion' by bombing the innocent. The London Underground bombings was just one of the examples. Remember Bali, Mombasa, Nairobi, New York, Medrid etc.etc. All these sprouted from 'just a political opinion'.

Thanks to 'Stammerman!' for putting correctly. People who would willingly fight against their own country, attempting to kill or actually killing the innocent, should be regarded as traitors and dealt with accordingly.

'Firefoxy' gives a clear example of what is not right with the present system. Anti UK opinions are too easily allowed to be converted to violent actions.

On the specific issue of sharia law... some may say they would prefer the *idea of it* over british law, but I doubt they would like the *reality* of it as exemplified by those wonderful nations where it is practised...
the alcohol and morality aspects would be very unpopular amongst all but the most fundie muslims.
Do you recall the furore last year over a man who was dressed as a suicide bomber, when he protested against the denmark cartoons.
He had previously been through the british courts as a convisted drug dealer... If his case had been handled under sharia law, would he have been so keen to protest for *the muslim cause*? (would he have been free to have joined the protest?)

This may be a bit misleading.
Terrorist organizations routinely recruit from specific regions of the Muslim world, not just from certain age groups. For example, the Batah and Amir provinces of Saudi Arabia are known for their anti-Goverment, radical Islamic culture. Palestinians and Wahabis are also radical by culture in all age groups.
It's funny, because just across the Penninsula are thousands and thousands of Muslims in the Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Oman who are peaceful, cosmopolitan and mild. Whenever I go there, I never see anyone who is violent, intolerant, or even suspicious of me. Many are actually happy to deal with me or talk as if they were my own countrymen.

They are probably just taking the Quran seriously. As in:
"O you who believe (Muslims)! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whosoever among you takes them for a friend, then surely shall become one of their number; surely Allah does not guide (those Jewish and Christian) people." - Sura 5:51
"I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them." - Sura 8:12
"O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, turn not your backs to them. Whoever shall turn his back to them on that day unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah's wrath, and his abode is hell So you did not slay them, but it was Allah who slew them that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing." - Sura 8:15 – 17
"Let not those who disbelieve think that they shall come in first; surely they will not escape. They have not the power to do so. Muster against them all the men and cavalry at your command, so that you may strike terror into the enemy of God and your enemy... Prophet, (Mohammed) rouse the faithful to arms! If they (the non- Muslims) incline to peace (accept Islam) make peace with them." - Sura 8:59
"Fight and slay the idolaters (infidels) wherever ye find them, and seize them, take them captives, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every ambush and stratagem of war." - Sura 9:5.
"Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth until they pay the tax in acknowledgement of superiority and they are in a state of subjection." - Sura 9:29

They can but immigration is a tough thing to do for most people.
They have friends and family there.
They dont have citizenship rights anywhere else.
They probably dont have the money to do so either.
But to immigrate out of sheer belief has been done very few times in the world. People like to stay where theyre born and bred.

THe world is big enough and open to everyone including minorities provided that hey show respect to the laws of the country they are in and do not negatively affect the original residents there. Maybe the higher inclination of people to be ruled by shariaa is coming from teh complete injustice that is going on around us in the world especially by the Great Powers and how they have different scales to rule by according to their self intertest. Shariaa is teh word of God and God puts whats best for humanity but where did the rules and regulations put by human beings lead us. DISASTER, WAR adn complete INJUSTICE especially towards the muslims.

Because we are bendin over backwards not to offend them and they are getting away with all these thing because of it. I am not racist.......i come from a mixed family and work with muslim children......but i'm sure tha if i went to their countries.....i would not be given the same kid glove treatment that they receive here. It is the Government and their petty pc brigade of do-gooders tat are the cause of the problem.......this is a case of .......not making a rod for their own backs......but........a steel girder! Lets be honest, if you were to be offered everything that they get in their countries........wouldn't you be tempted?

What and leave behind the housing, the benefits, the schools and places of worship all catered for by this government. Cut the supplies and you'll see a mass exodus, keep on with the hand outs and the statistics will keep on rising.
