All over Bangkok! As recommended, make a weekend stay so that you can include Chatuchak Weekend Market for your shopping. The 2 days should be about right just for the market. Make another day to visit Jatujak Plaza just next door too. So that will be 3 full days just in one place. Easily reached by Skytrain or underground train at Mochit Station and Chatuchak Station respectively.

So make sure you stay close to one of the train stations.

Next will be clothes in Pratunam. The Wholesale Centre will take you at least a day. Plus the other shopping centres like Pratunam Centre, a couple of other buildings nearby which I cannot recall the names, and Baiyoke Suite Hotel, you will find many more shops around there. So probably 2 full days to complete them.

Other good shoppings will be in Siam Square with hundreds of small shops selling quite specialised items, especially for ladies. Want better quality and branded stuff, head to Siam Paragon or Siam Discovery Centre. Something a little less expensive, Mah Boon Khrong Centre next door. This will be in Pathuwan area,

There are quite a few night markets all over Bangkok, The bigger ones will be near the Chao Phraya River, near the bridges. Ask the locals for direction.

Next will be Suan Luum Night Bazaar in Lumpini, easily reached bythe underground train. Open nightly, a more modern version of Chatuchak market, plenty of shops to browse.

Looks like a week will be just enough for these places. However, over at Ploenchit Road, you get more shopping centres, like Zen Plaza, Gaysorn Shopping Centres 1 & 2, Central World Plaza and the ver popular Isetan. Out on Sukhumvit, there is E-emporium, Central Chidlom, and a line of other shopping buildings. And these are in central Bangkok. How about heading to Lap-phrao for more shops? Maybe to Bangrak too? Maybe to Phaholyothin Rd too?

If you look at the map of Bangkok, you are only getting the central area only, the fringes are not included yet. I think the list gets quite long.

Maybe if you have some specifics in mind, you can email me at thaitourinfo@yahoo.com for suggestions.

Happy shopping.

Chatuchak weekend market. Very cheap - but you will also have to contend with the heat and the crowd and the crampness of it all. But then again... anywhere in Bangkok is hot!

Pratunam clothes market is good too.

Generally - just about anywhere in Bangkok is good shopping (with the possible exception to the newly-opened Siam Paragon shopping Centre where even window shopping will melt your credit cards) There are so many markets and shopping malls with great bargain to be had. Siam Square, MBK centre, Sampeng (Chinatown), Patpong Night market, Lumpini Night Bazaar, Khao Sarn Road.. plus many many many many more.

Really.... just go to Bangkok and SHOP!!! Just make sure you have room in you luggage and the money to pay for excess weight when you check in on your return trip.

Well said. The person above me already mentioned everything I want to say. You should actually mention around where you're staying because there are other cheap shopping places but they're not located in Sukhumvit or in town. It's furthur away but just as good. But all the places these people above me mentioned are all good shopping places too. Good luck and have fun shopping.
