How could Luke, Matt, Mark, or John have known this if no one stayed awake with Jesus?

The Bible was written through the guide of the Spirit of God. Written by the apostle's. The Spirit know all truth

Perhaps because they woke up later and saw the blood on Christ's brow. Nothing every single tiny detail that happened is written down in the gospels, just the most important parts.
