As who ever u talk to they are going to have there own opinion on amps. As some1 else already answered, sound is all about what type of wires, and speakers you use. But going for amps, my opinion would be go with the MTX amps. Going with the TA amps, it uses the Xtant cooling technology and has been rated one of the most efficient amps on the market. As anyone will tell you about MTX amps, they are VERY underated. You open box up and look at the birth certificate, it will prove to you whats it really doing. Biggest theory is always a $1 a watt. If an amp says it's doing 1000 watts and it costs $300? Hmm right... I have sold eclipse, rockford, alpine and had the least complaints about MTX. Stats doesn't lie and for the cost of these amp, many compare them to much more expensive amps. Zapco, diamond, etc.

1. Eclipse
2. Alpine
3. Rockford
4.MTX

however, Eclipse amps are not even on the same level with the others. and i'm sure your gonna get post that say "none, go with Kicker" but thats a bunch of bull too. i had a kicker amp from my fronts, Boston Acoustic Z6's, and i switched to a Kenwood Excelon 4 channel, and the differnce was clear. my speakers wouldnt distort on power cords any more. which was great. if you want a good SQ amp check out these other brands you cant get at Circut City

Boston Acoustics
Diamond audio
Kenwood excelon
MB Quart
McIntosh
Audison

it has a lot of factors. what kind of speakers your running, the radio, the rca's. is it a highs amp or a subs amp. we have used audiobahn and hifonics with our systems, and won competitions for loudest. a class D amp is better in any grade of amps. if you have crap speakers, then its not gonna matter what amp you have in there. good luck

The easiest way is to determine if the amp in question is CEA compliant, if it's not, it's crap.
