what I would probably do is confine them to 1 room with their litter box and water for a day or 2 give them their feedings where you want to have them eat. after a day or two in the one room and out for meals then give them a little bit more space to check out, that way it won't be as overwhelming for them.

If they're totally indoor cats, then you don't have anything much to worry about. Outdoor cats are the concern because you don't want them getting lost.
It depends on the cats' personalities. If they're happy cats usually, then they won't be too freaked out by the move. They may hide in places, but don't "mother" them when they do because this will just encourage them to stay there.
Make sure they know where their things are (tray, food bowls etc) and they should settle in quite quickly.
They may spray urine to mark their new territory, so don't be upset with them if they do, it's annoying, but normal.

Cats are definately different but one thing for sure if you want to make your pets feel comfortable and not freak out, here are a few tips that I have used. The first thing you need to do is make sure that you dont bring your cats into your new place without putting their litterbox down.Dont let their feet touch the ground first. Be sure the 1st thing their feet touch is the litterbox. Next thing is take them to where their new food bowl spot so that they will start to recognize "their" things. Make sure you have their favorite toys out. Also you and your other family memebers if there are any should give you cats some extra attention for the first few days. These tricks should do it for you. Really its just a matter of making them feel comfortable in their new surroundings.SLP

Don't worry they'll be fine just try to take the cats last so they don't get out when you're moving stuff in and also they won't have the stress of you moving the stuff in and your new house will already have their scent on your usual furniture. To get them accostomed to the new house let them roam around for a bit I think you'll find they find new hiding places and settle in very quickly. Also buy them a treat of their favourite food so they'll associate it with their new home. Believe me I have three cats and they've moved house quite often and they've always been fine for me.

You should have no problems because they ar indoor cats only. Indoor cats seem to adapt to this alot easier. Its the wandering cats and toms that think they are at the wrong home and mostly get lost or run over because they are trying to get home to their old place (the one they are used to).
With in/out cats its recommended u keep them inside for 3weeks all the time and if u go outside be with them. But if yours are insiders u should be fine!

My kitten moved three times before he was 5 months old, cats are very adaptable. If they go out already keep them in for a week or two to allow them to get used to the new house. Make sure they are wearing collars also as my neighbour didnt realise it was my cat and as he didnt have a collar on they took him in and had me worried for a week! - sorry just realised they are indoor cats! They will be just fine, pay them loads of attention.

Keep their same beds and litter trays and food and keep them indoors for AT LEAST 2 weeks otherwise they will try and smell there way back to there own home. Give them lots of attention so they know it is you their owner. They will probably want to explore alot of the house but i suggest for a week or so keeping them in one area of your new home. Hope the move is ok and i hope ive given you good advice, oh yeh phone up a vet and ask advice off them.

Remember the first day you got them... this will be almost exactly like that day.

Make sure they have toys and kitty litter in a easy place for them & dont move it around to much. Keep them in like the lounge room and let them slowly start exploring. Dont change there usual diet because you dont want to scare them with to much change. But after a couple of days they will settle in just fine.

They will love it, new smells and new stairs to climb. I have just moved house and my cat had to stay in for 10 days now she does not like going out. They will have fun and settle in really quickly. They are young enough to forget the old house and love the new house. Plus they have each other to play with.
Good luck hope all goes well

Ther are indeed going to be freaked out. I would keep them out of the way while you are moving. Put them in your new bedroom with there blanket or a jumper of yours to smell so they arent as frightened perhaps. Even if it is just until you get your furniture and boxes in. Keep them shut in the house for about 3 - 4 weeks after moving too...that way they wont get lost. They are more sensitive than people think.

I moved last summer and it took about 2 or 3 weeks before my cats finally felt safe enough to explore there new surounding. My cats are almost 8 years old. Sense yours are younger they may agust quicker. Don't worry they will be fine, especially sense they have each other.
