4Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,[a]' and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.

9"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

I'm not sure of what the question was, but this was when Jesus' disciples asked him how they would be able to recognize his coming presence and the conclusion of the system of things - this was Jesus' answer to them.

And this is a very important prophecy in the Bible showing that we are living in the last days, and that the end is drawing ever nearer.

If you look at the news, all of these things are taking place. Especially verses 6 - 8.

And at 2 Timothy 3:1-7, it speaks further of the times we are living in today.

Again, I'm not sure what your question was, but this is a very significant passage in the Bible showing how it was written for us also today to go by and understand the times we are living in. It's also important for us to see and recognize that we are now living in the last days, and the end is ever closer.

Verse 11 speaks of the many people who say they are Jesus or even in a more subtle sense, those who claim to prophecy in Jesus' behalf. These are the ones who deceive people today, and actually draw them away from Jesus instead of closer to him.

Hope this helped!

Just because ALL religions are corrupted, doesnt mean that true prophets dont exist?
just because islam says there will be no more prophets, doesnt mean it applies to christianity.
just because paul declares that prophecies will fail, it does not mean they will NEVER be given again.
the gift of prophecy is one of the gifts of the spirit see corr 13 and 14:1
Every human being is given a gift of the spirit.
Some people are led astray by false spirits and still the while they believe they are following God.
the one thing i have concluded, the only way ANYONE can be a true prophet is to KNOW JESUS, not KNOW of him, but to hold his hands and his feet and feel the the side where a roman soldir pierced his lung.
YES it is possible but very HIGHLY not possible. ONLY a few in the entire history of mankind have had such a wonderful gift. I would say that ONLY the two witnesses in Rev ch10 or 11, will have that opportunity in this generation. this is a testimony against all religious people! NO ONE is worthy and no one can claim to KNOW GOD OR JESUS. because simply NO one is so much worthy.

I don't think it's wise to guess whether we are living in end times or not. Focus on Jesus, share the gospel, and time will tell.

Honestly I think it's going to get a lot worse before the end. Since "murder" is the only commandment from God that most people claim to have not broken (even though they are wrong) I think in the end times murder will be commonplace, an everyday event that few take notice of.
As for verse 11, there have always been false prophets who deceive and lead people away. The Council of Nicea came together specifically to refute the false prophets of their day.

We definitely have false Gospels and false Christ in the world today and these are the birth pains when the AntiChrist will arrive and this time is definitely soon.
