it depends on ethnicity and gender. in the us, asian girls wait the longest, till age 18 on average, while asian males lose theirs at age 17. black males lose their V the soonest, at age 14 on average, while black girls average age 15. for latinos, the age is 15 for males, 16 for females. for whites, it's 16 for males, 17 for females. for native americans, i don't have the statistics.

some of these answers are so stupid! the question is the average age virginity is lost, not when you beleive it SHOULD be lost. And who the hell said there is no average? There is a statistical average for almost everything!
I have heard it as 17 for girls but not 100% sure. For me it was 18 and i'm glad i waited and it wasn't any younger.

Seems to be getting lower.
They say its around 16 for both sexes on average.

I would guess at the average being around 16 for girls, maybe a bit older for boys

18 is the best age for both genders. Anywhere. Be it USA or any part of the globe. No sex before you mature. That should be the law.

there isn't an average age. it all depends if you're ready or not..but in my country, the legal age is 16.
