Please give me details of why snow takes longer to melt on a insulated roof.

The heat from the loft space is prevented from escaping through the roof material by the insulation and therefore the outer roof is cooler that and unisulated roof and so the snow takes longer to melt.

its pretty obvious isn't it ..if you insulate a roof properly the heat cannot get out ..therefore it wont melt the snow

it's more than likely because there is less heat loss through the roof if it is insulated well.
