I say what I mean and mean what I say but only in the context of my understanding of what I said and expectation of what you should take it to mean not necessarily in accordance within the context of what you normally understand something said to mean and expectation of it. That is what you commonly call a misunderstanding.

In plain English, If you ask for lots of ice in your coke in Europe, you would get about four cubes instead of the usual glass full as in America. See what I mean? Like what does lol mean? Most non-Americans and I would guess a good number of Americans included don't understand it the way you do.

No one means exactly what they say. This is because words are not expressive enough to deal with all human communication.

In English we can be given a gift and say how nice it is...yet we are telling the person who gave it to us that we hate it! This is because the words have only as much meaning as we intend them to have!

As a philosophical question, I would suggest we only mean, what we mean by what we say!

Yes I do, but sometimes I gloss around it a bit I if I feel it might hurt someones feelings, though I don't always get it right.
