Is it true that your feet get bigger as you get older? Ive been a size 10 since I was 12 years old. Today I am 21 years old and im now wearing size 12 shoes! Strangely, my dad ((whom is 48 today)) told me hes been a size 8 since he was in high school tho. I have read that feet continue to grow as you get older. Is this true?

Yes it is true to an extent. Your feet will typically stop growing when you're 21 or 18 if you're a female. However your feet will indeed grow a little bigger based on many factors. For example playing certain sports regulary like basketball can make your feet larger. Because all the constant jumping and running will cause the muscles on your feet to stretch out. Also gaining weight will make your feet bigger to. Jared Fogel ((The subway guy)) said he went down two shoe sizes after his weight loss on an interview one time. One more thing is genetics. Try asking your aunts and uncles what size of shoe they wore when they were in high school and what size they are wearing today. Chances are some of them probably have went up a size or two over the years.

I know for certain that my feet are getting bigger. I have been in size 81/2 most of my adult life. I am now 75 and recently I went to get my feet measured for walking boots because my current boots were giving me some problems. It turned out that one of my feet was a size 10 and the other was a 101/2. I did not believe it but he shop assistant showed me the gauge and sure enough it was correct. I then purchased a pair of size 101/2 boots which have been excellent. It appears that your tendons and ligaments stretch with age and also the arch of your foot can collapse resulting in longer feet. Just another one of the joys of growing old.

Your feet do grow as you get older, but they stop growing after a certain age..i'd say about 20....but then you're feet may become larger due to reasons other than natural growtn, increased physical activity, or walking barefoot very often can cause your feet to become flatter and so seem larger...

I was size 11 at 20, 12 at 30, 13 at 50, and now 14 at 58. I hope this is as big as they get, because the selection gets smaller the bigger you get.

You feet spread as you gain weight and when you physically stop growing you will gain weight over the years. When you lose weight your feet will also shrink.

Sam that's absolute nonsense - your hair and your nails won't grow after death, trust me on this one, since you ain't going to be around to check it. But the fact is - new cells cannot form without glucose metabolism. The reason the nails appear to extend on a dead body - is because the skin around the nails shrivels and retracts. http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20130526-do-your-nails-grow-after-death

Actually yes....but ever so slowly. Your ears and nose also never completely stop growing. And hair and nails continue to grow for a little while after you are dead.
