happening, I was in full view of him and my mom, as I was looking at myself in the hall mirror, just preening myself, touching my hair and looking at my make up, you know, the usual girly stuff really and he called out, "You'll need to do more than that, love". I ran into the room and burst into tears. Am I too sensitive? Why did he say this?

Aw, that's horrible. He was probably just trying to be funny but it was mean.. Don't worry about an *** like him. And there's nothing wrong with being sensitive.. Maybe he should try it sometime. X

It was more than rude, it was cruel. Your mom should have gotten his name and made a report to the courier company about him. And she could still do it; all she needs is the name of the company and the time and day that the delivery was made. The man should make no remarks to a young girl while performing his job; Or at any other time as far as that goes. I don't think you were wrong in being upset.

He's a prat. If I were you I'd have slapped/decked him or at least said something like "you aren't a pretty picture yourself!".
You aren't too sensitive, he was cruel to say such a thing. I wouldn't even consider saying that to any girl.
What you could legally do is complain to the courier company and get him in trouble for it. He deserves to have at least something said to him or he'll carry on thinking he's funny and that it's harmless banter.
BTW, not all of us guys are like that. Some of us are considerate.

He could of meant it a totally different way to how it came out!
Who knows what goes through peoples heads these days.
He should of just gave the parcel and left keeping to himself.
It's not his job to pass judgment on clients.
Keep your head up and know that one day you will be doing something better then being a courier!

He obviously thought he was being funny. You need to take it with a pinch of salt and no matter what anyone says, even as a joke, you know you're gorgeous. Try not to take yourself so seriously, though
And keep it in perpective. I mean, really, you're worried about what a courier thinks? He must be really smart with a high powered complicated job like that - NOT

Where I'm from the courier wouldn't dare look inside the house. And, if he did he wouldn't make some tasteless comment. Ignore it!! However, if you were doing it to draw attention to yourself then he prolly was just trying to knock you down a notch!

Your mother should have put him in his place... he was on the job and the only thing he should have said was here is your package Mrs. ....., have a nice day, and nothing more than that.
If I was your mom I would tell him that if he valued his job at all, he should keep his mouth quiet and stick to the buisness at hand. Then called his supervisor anyway.

This could have simply been a joke, or possibly telling you to work on not looking in the mirror. Us males tend to underestimate the sensitivity of girls.

Jerks are everywhere don't let them bring you down. He was a bully and felt good about himself by making others feel smaller. A true class act that one. Report him to the delivery Co., for insulting a customer for a lil revenge and then brush it off.

Yes you are sensitive but I imagine you are a teenager? It comes with the territory. If he had done that to my daughter I would have given him a right rollicking. He had no right to say anything and you would be within your rights to complain to his boss. However, rather than blow things out of proportion I would just forget about it or learn some witty retorts to belittle anyone who tries to put you down. It does wonders for your ego and reminds them they should keep their mouths shut!
