I work on it for about 24 to 48 hours, then I start looking elsewhere (like forums and manufacturer sites) to see if someone else already asked the question before me. Then if not, I start actively seeking help.

I'm not good at computers at all, but I plug away at it until I'm ready to pick up the whole kit and caboodle and crash it on the back patio...then I call somebody who has a better technical mind than mine. :~|

Depends on your skill with computers. If you suck, get someone else. I'm ok with computers, but I still kinda suck with them. I would reccommend getting somebody who knows uber stuff about them. Their out there.
