Depends on what you actually did:

If all you did was read the book, then leave it out.

If, on the other hand, you "Implemented a new business project by customising a data mining tool (name it, and what benefits the company gained/will gain)" then you need no mention of the fact that you spent loads of time reading up on it.

Hope this helps.

It depends on context.

This sounds like a sentence aimed at the English by a Foreigner.

Try;
Customised a Data Mining tool, in order to implement a New Business Project.
or
Implemented a new Business project by customising a Data Mining Tool.

You've written this in English, so it follows that the main language would be continued in the instruction manual.
Don't highlight the fact that the manuals and instructions were 'hundreds of pages' long.
Remember, 'short, to the point but not rude'

Perhaps you should say if this is something YOU have done or something you expect the reader to do.
Is the 'Read' - "I have read" or "You should read"
Th distinction changes the meaning significantly

I agree with Modern Major General--be specific--except: was the data-mining tool the new business project, or did you do two things?

And you DO want to mention the English reading (though probably not in the same bullet point) IF it will dispel doubts about your English competence for the new job.

Edit: Not "kindly"! If you did it on your own time for no pay, write that, otherwise there's no need for "kindly".
