I think the main problem right now is that there are so many problems and issues that there's no focus.
In the 1960s, the wife of president Johnson helped put forward an effort to remove auto junkjards from the US.
Not a huge problem but it was something everyone could focus on and work towards. I was a kid but still remember auto junkwards with partly crushed cars stacked 30 high and the junkyards stretched for miles. But since Ladybird Johnson got so many people interested, they got recycling programs and laws together so you don't see auto junkyards so much any more.
One small issue to focus on and fix.
Solar, wind and geothermal power sources continue to get better and cheaper. Soon even the oil industry won't be able to stop them. Between that and other growing technologies, I'm hoping people will figure out a solution.

nice rhyme there.... pollution is basically any unwanted waste around you. for example if the composition of air gets changed it causes pollution. if you seek solutions, there are myriad, but the motivation and the determination of the people to adopt them are rare. solutions may differ based on the type of pollution in question. land pollution can be controlled by land fills. air pollution can be reduced by making car pools. noise pollution can be controlled by turning down speakers and horns. there are many methods.. but if you say that you are gonna try and do it, then you have a vast array to choose from. i hope you find this answer satisfactory

The government needs to impose and enforce much stricter laws governing auto and industrial emissions. Those are the biggest contributors. However, a massive world wide education campaign that teaches practical everyday solutions needs to be undertaken as well. Then its all up to individual responsibility after that.
