are thirty vestal virgins waiting for them. Afterall...without a body and the sexual sensory organs what good are 30 or a hundred virgins as a reward for murdering innocent men women and children?
What a supreme disrespect they have for their diety to think he or she would reward their vile acts with virgins...no matter how many...to perform for them sexual temptations they can only remember from their earthly existance.
In a way, I think that alone will be the punishment the dead terrorists who threw away their lives deserve and I hope they yearn for eternity for the carnal pleasures their bodiless spirits cannot enjoy.

First things first: that virgin part thing isn't TRUE!!!!!! First get that clear.
But people will translate Hoor as virgin which is mentioned in 4 differnet places if I am not wrong. But Hoor dosn't mean virgin even if Many translators of the Qur’an have translated the word hoor as ‘beautiful maidens’ or girls especially in the Urdu translations.
The word hoor is actually the plural of ahwar (applicable to man) and of haura (applicable to woman) and signifies a person having eyes characterized by hauar a special quality bestowed upon a good soul, male or female in paradise and it denotes the intense whiteness of the white part of the spiritual eye.
N by the way, on the last day of judgement, according to the Quran, we will come infront of God with our bodies. This is evident in Chapter 4 verse 56

Originally the idea of the virgins appealed to poor muslims, who had little or nothing to lose.
If you could not provide wedding gifts for the bride and her family you were NOT ALLOWED TO BE MARRIED.
Therefore, the idea of not only one wife, but seventy two, all virgins and all for you. You see the tempting offer dont you?
It was a way to take even further advantage of the poor.

Why is that I wonder? Wouldnt they still get 72 virgins.

I hope that they will be punished. i am muslim myself, but it is not allowed to kill people, unless 3 reasons:
1. If a person has killed an unguilty muslim
2. If people do not let muslims spread their religion with peace.
3. If a muslim has left his faith.
And i have never heard about virgins. a person who did a suicide will (i think from hadith), may Allah forgive me if thats wrong, will never come close to heaven

Because in the after life you sill have a body, it will be a angelic type body or glorified body. not just a phantom spirit. But the Bible says we will not be given to marriage there that was for humans!
