My country boy is the same way...but he wears a watch everyday, never taking it off. Perhaps a very nice watch would go over well. Before spending a ton of money, you should probably just ask him. Will he be wearing a wedding ring? That could be your present.

Its not necessary to give your fiance an engagement gift, your answer of yes is his gift.

You should only buy him a gift for your wedding.

i'd suggest some sort of necklace. i got my fiance a pendant from the renaissance faire, where we got engaged. they had a coin makers place there, and you can pick what design you wanted on each side. i got a celtic heart on one side, and a symbol for protection on the other.
