Well, I think you have already answered your own question... I know I would (unless it is a very expensive/boring/horrible place where you work)

It depends on how long it takes you. In some places 50 miles could take 5 hours during rush hour, but in other places it could take an hour. If it takes you more than two hours I would say move. If its between 1-2 hours its your choice. If its less than an hour and you like it there then why move? But its really your choice.

And besides the impact you and other 50 mile commuters are having on the environment.
Yes, you should move if you plan to stay at the job. You will have more free time.

I agree with the others here that, unless something at your present place is compelling, that a move would make sense. Obviously, checking options carefully is good advice.

You could get a cool place if you are by yourself...LOL
Seriously, if you live in SoCal you have to live 50+ miles from work because you cannot afford to live near your work.

If you think you will be remaining in your current job for a long, long, while.... then yes. However, if most of your friends and social circle are in your current living area, then NO. IMHO

If it's a job that it looks like you're likely to keep, then sure. More money in your pocket each month. It would be like giving yourself a raise!

What kind of job do you have? maybe easier to find a local job. remember you are going to lose, it is not a sellers market. That is if you own your home.

It would be if the rent is favorable, salary is the same, and you will be living in a safe area.
