Our neighbours teenage girls are harrassing us. They wolf-whistle at my partner and give me obsene gestures.
Is there something I can do about it? I don't want to have to think about going out in the garden. Re: previous similar question, beating them up is NOT an acceptable option.
I would like to know if there is a way I can report it and make it stop. It is annoying and invasive of our privacy.

come on they are teenage girls. little imature girls all excited cuz your partner. just ignore them. if they come up to you just follow along to what they say. if they flip you off just thank them. reverse psychology does work on teenagers now a days.

You could file an harassment charge against them with the police. But they can't really do anything unless your neighbors physically touch you or damage your property. Basically all that will happen is the police will talk to your neighbors and tell them that they were reported and to stop.

You are right about the beating them up thing. They will just turn that around & you will be charged with assult.

Have you tried just ignoring them? Sometimes they do stuff like that just to get a rise out of you. And if they can't get you angry they stop.

Good luck. Sucks to have bad neighbors.

1) Go speak with the teens AND their parents (never speak to teenagers on their own, who knows what you'll be accused of!). See if you can come to an amicable solution.

2) Write down every incident: date, time, people involved, potential witnesses, exactly what happened and where

3) Send a registered letter to the parents. Keep copies of everything.

4) Contact the police. Explain what is happening.

Most importantly though, you need to speak with the parents.

Video Tape the girls doing these harassing things and then show it to their parents. Ask them to please have their children refrain from the offensive behavior.

Send them a certified letter delineating the incidents and what they say. Ask them to stop the harassment.

Go to the police dept. and make a report about the harassment.

Lastly, if all aforementioned actions don't work SUE. Sometimes it takes hitting them in the pocket for them to learn a lesson. They needn't like you or approve of your lifestyle to show common courtesy.

I agree with paprklp. Even if they have learned this behavior and mentality from their parents, police/court action should shut them up. If they rent, find out who the landlord is and complain. They might get kicked out.

Why don’t you talk to your neighbors about their daughters and tell them how annoying and irritating it is. If this doesn’t work out then you can definitely seek the police assistance.
