Go for a car with automatic transmission. It has no clutch and you don't have to change the gears.Driving is as simple as you have to only accelerate, steer & brake.
The cheapest is Santro A/T.
City, corolla, skoda, civic etc are some of the other options

LOL, I drive an acura but I'd have to say a toyota. Maybe a camry. They last FOREVER! my aunt had one with 360k miles on it and only had to do regular maintenance. That's it! My grandma did too until she was in an accident and it was totalled. Guess what she did? Bought another camry! They are economical and the 07s are really good looking and the ride is like you are floating...really comfortable and smooth. The prices start inthe low 20s.

If you have "older parents and have the money, go with the lincoln town car, it has the space, comfort, and power for when they need it. Except go with a used one because I don't think $40,000 is worth an '07 model, I pasted a link of what you can expect from an '04.

first of all what is you budget
do u like small car, hatch back or sedan.
while you going to buy a car it should be economic, always buy from big company coz if you buy from a small company ( i mean there shouldn't be any problem in near future for parts and service) if u r in india ZEN, esteem, indigo ,jazz civic are good hundai's car are not reliable after 2-3 years it needs lots of service repair, part of honda r very expenive ZEN, Esteem, indica or Indigo choose any of these

First of all ask them for their Budget. If u r a trained driver then go for New else you should go for second hand car. If new or budget is around 2-2.5 lacs Go for Alto,If it is 3-4lacs Go for WagonR in Petrol or in Diesel Go for Indica Turbo.Above this there r many options like: Between 4.5-8 lacs Indigo,Swift,Esteem,Accent,Verna,Honda City,,Aveo,Lancer.Between 8-16lacs Honda Civic,Sonata,Skoda,Corolla,Camry etc.But make your mind how much you have to spend then choose.

1. Josh Dryer is Mistaken- Fitzgerald of Fredick does hassle you on price- they wouldn't let my wife buy a car 100% cash in 1990. Then they sent it out the door with 1.5 quarts of oil in it. engine tapping away. they all but forced her to finance 1000 dollars of the amount and told her that she couldn't purchase the car 100% cash . they may have 'changed' but they certainly were not 'founded' as posted. My fatherinlaw has had his own problems through the years and stopped buying his truck there. These problems were with sales, and service.
2. REMEMBER- your car is only as good as the service plan and at Fitzgerald- GOOD LUCK. According to Lester Abl- if you've a problem- don't bother calling VW AMERICA- "they won't do ANYTHING FOR YOU" - that is exactly what he said and he wouldn't even call on behalf of disabled customers- even those with brain damage and in pain from the damage to their spine and other parts of their body.
3. a trip to the city where there are more dealerships, is sometimes worth it because they have more competition closer by.
4. I've worked on and driven VW's for over 28 years. We took our 2004 jetta back as it had so many problems, and now we can not wait to get rid of our 2005 jetta as it is not only full of cheap parts- some people at fitzgerald, including the service manager charlie abl, do not seem to understand that an extened warrentee, provided by VW america, is good at any dealership in the country. We have gone through and are going through, hell trying to get things covered. EX : we needed a fuel pump at 70,000 miles and we have a 100,000 mile warrentee. the pump they just put in is acting erratic, now we find out the new pump isn't covered for even the remainder of the 100,000 miles, it's only covered now for another 10,000 miles. We found this out by accident as no one at Fitzgerald explained this to us.
4. Don't buy at Stohlman VW of vienna under any circumstances. everyone is more than welcome to contact us about our experience at both dealerships.
i am typing this a 4am as i have been tossing and turning going over the many conversations that took place to get what is in the service contract. Currently- they are going to basically break/ruin/destroy- our front end alignment to replace a covered part- but want us to cover the alignmnet.
when they replaced our fuel pump, they didn't charge us for taking out the tank and putting it back in. so why they want to charge us for something that was just done when we had new tires put on is beyond me.
on a final note- if they send you to their current recommended auto body shop- make sure you take pictures, and document everything said. It took us over 4 months just to get the emissions stickers and no one at the dealership seemed to realize that the stickers were 'VIN specific. Lester was involved o n that too. I spent the bulk of a day working with lester- he could not get done what i and his counter person Ginny Turnbow. She had no problem calliing the warrentee company supplied by VW- and produced results he coudn't/wouldn't. The adjuster lied quoting lester saying something he not only didn't say, but he was no where around when the adjuster was on site- Lester has promised to put in writing what he said and we are requesting a copy of the adjusters words and his name as currently- he is still running wild filing false documents and charlie abl is not at all bother and appears to have no intention of contacting anyone- not his boss and not vw america on behalf of himself for being misquoted, or on behalf of customers getting the run around.
I've been in and around sales and service of all sorts my entire life and some of us have quite clear memories going back many years.
