Your question doesn't really make a lot of sense the way you asked it. I think what you were trying to ask is Why do humans create gods/goddesses or a God/Goddess? If I am correct on that, then the reason for that is because humans who do that either don't believe in the one true God or they simply don't know that He exists. The Greeks, the Romans, and the Egyptians are a few great examples of races of people who created gods/goddesses of their own. Each race had a god/goddess that they created for each natural phenomena, like a sun god/goddess, a rain god/goddess, a seasonal god/goddess (meaning a god/goddess for each season), a harvest god/goddess, etc. They also had gods/goddesses for things like marriage, love, war, music, etc. Anything you can imagine, they had a god/goddess for it. They created these deities simply as an explanation for natural phenomenons and for why things are they way they are and such. They couldn't fathom the idea of everything in this earth being created and controlled by one God. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the one and only true God and He is in fact responsible for everything you see and not all these man-made gods and goddesses like Ra, Venus, Zeus, Poseidon, Hera, Aphrodite, etc.

God is really there. I don't know what you believe, but how do you think we are born and have the whole nature ready to recieve us. We came into this world so new and then only understood that there has been so many years before us and so many have lived and passed away. One day we will also pass away and no one will remember us. But as God has created us, He knows the future.
I have so many experience that when I cry for help and when nobody could comfort me, God has been there to take me out of my trouble and love me as deeply as nobody else can.
Just like you'l know only when you experience God, you'll also one day know when you search for God today.
Just say a one line of prayer to help you. If you dont want any help, just tell God that you want to see Him to believe, I am sure God will answer you.

Humans can't explain many things on a scientific basis. So, they created a hypothesis which they conveniently called God. Now, whatever cannot be explained on a scientific basis, the humans ascribe to God ! There were people being taught by the Messenger of God to beleive in the One True God. Some time later, they forget His divine lessons, another Messenger came to remind them about the spiritual laws and teach new social laws for them to reach a higher civilization. The difference of languages, traditions, applications...causing people to wrongly think that thwy are two different religions worshipping two different Gods...Unitl now, true followers of the true and eternal religon see clearly the Divine Unity of God, of Religion and of Mankind; while other heedless people only see the differences.

Gluing together primitive moral systems, explaining the unexplained before science, an excuse to get together and beat the crap out of competing bands of hunter-gatherers, take your pick.
