I love dogs and cats, however if I had to choose between one over another, I would definitely choose cats....
Yes cats can be standoffish from time to time, but most cats are very intuitive and understand their owners feelings. My cats if I am upset sense this every time and will come over to sit on my lap, or just sit beside me. If I am pissed off, generally they will stay away, or they will start playing on the floor in the same room trying to cheer me up. They are always doing something that somehow corresponds to your mood. However, they do have their times that they simply don't seem to care... everything is on their terms.
I used to have a purebred persian, but after Sasha passed away, I just adopted a stray brown tabby from the shelter. This cat has been my favorite cat ever, she is the most loving, sweetest cat I have ever seen. I have had her for 13 years now, and she hasn't slowed one bit. I would suggest that if you are looking for a new pet, and have not owned a cat before, go to an animal shelter and play with several cats and find one that seems to match well to your personality, then adopt.

Hi Coyd, Hands down a dog. At least a dog will stay with you,and be a great companion. A cat is a cat,and has a mind of it's own. No 1 really owns a cat.

Cats-any variety, i have three at the moment , a tabby, a black and a semi-long-haired tabby and white, love them all

Cats. I love them. They're intelligent, independant, beautiful, and yet sweet and loving and cuddly. I adore my cats. They're part of the family!

i like both cats and dogs...i have 2 cats and 1 dog. male cats are too noisy female cats are scornful, dogs are nicer and well behaved. but still i like cats, maybe its because of their smell, dogs are smelly and needs to bathe every week, while cats can clean themselves.

My Chihuahuas, they are so loyal and want to be with you all the time. They are the 2 most precious little doggies.

Dog I've got a german shepherd and I spoil him.Like he is my son.He knows it that he is mummy's boy he gets what he wants.
