water is less dense so it freezes faster. you can turn up the thermostat so the freezer can work harder and freeze the ice cream faster than it melts.

I've heard that ice cream dosen't do well if it's kept in the door because of constant temp changes. Do you keep your ice cream in the door?

it might not be closed tight,,check the seal on the door
