Hi... go onto your local council website and if you want to complain you should be able to do this via the net. What they will then do is..... they will send your neighbour a letter, telling them about the complaint.
However if this doesnt seem to work im afraid you would have to do your very own diary of events recording in there the worst times and how you are affected by it. ie: getting to sleep, Try and quote what the dog may be barking for...eg: postman, delivery drivers. The council will then look at your diary and probably install equipment in your house to monitor the noise. You can always remain annonymous in the first suggestion by just complaining online, and this will give your neighbour a chance to do something before it goes too far. But it is your local council who will deal with it.

Hi, if you don't want to go the official complaint route & you like dogs - why not call around to your neighbour & offer to take the dog for a walk during the day ... then explain the problem that the barking is driving you mad & so you thought that you'd try to help out.

Or take around one of those really big bones that you sometimes see in the petshops. My local petshop calls them 'postman's legs', lol. Perhaps if the Rottie had its mouth full then it wouldn't bark so much.

However, I do wonder when your neighbours spend any time at home ... it would drive me mad too if my dog kept barking all night. Most odd that they haven't tried to stop it.

First keep a diary of the times that the dog is barking. Also call in the council dog warden as they have the authority to take the necessary action. A call to an RSPCA inspector would not do any harm as if the dog is confined all day and does not get proper exercise this is classed as cruelty.

you need to make a complaint about noise pollution, or noisy neighbours to your council........unfortunately the rspca can do nothing about removing a dog from somewhere if it just being noisy, i tried this earlier in the year and they say if you cant prove it is being neglected there is not much they can do and they'll tell you to call the council!

good luck!

It wouldn't bother me personaly but i can see your point of view. You can contact your local council. They will come out and measure the extent of the noise pollution and my takes some steps to lower it such as makeing the dog go to training classes.

We tend to think of dog training as a series of steps for teaching particular behaviors. To teach a dog to stay in a particular position, you reward her as she remains in place for gradually longer times, at gradually greater distances, with gradually increasing degrees of distraction. Now, this is fine, training does involve teaching dogs specific behaviors with a step-by-step approach. This week, though, I’m going to discuss three mental habits that will not only enable you train more effectively but also make life pleasant for both you and your dog.
