You can get hepatitis B from blood and body fluid contact, including sex and sharing needles, but not limited to that. There are many different types of hepatitis so be sure that what you have is hep B. some kinds are not contagious.

I disagree with the previous poster about the immunizations. They inject you with a dead virus, and your body develops antibodies to the virus. Your immunity depends on having those antibodies, some people get the shot and don't develop antibodies, and all need booster vaccinations from time to time. If you become immune your blood has antibodies to the virus, not the virus itself, so you will not test positive for hepatitis just from getting immunized.

There is no way to cure hep B but your doctor can help you manage the symptoms, and help you avoid transferring it to other people.

Hep "b" can be cause from sexual activity or drug use. BUT if you are in the health care industry and took the vaccine series like I did you have nothing to worry about you will always test positive as you are injected with the virus to develope an immunity to it. Cures are depending on far along the virus is, in early stages doctors can treat it like Hep a unless of course your in the health field and had the vacine.. Then don worry about it. Of course use common sense to watch over the counter drugs that effect the liver and give up alcoholic beverages. An earlier post I wrote try Large doses of Milk Weed thistle! It is helping a friend of mine who has Hep-C...causes could have been the vacine, a wild party life, sexually ransmitted just so many ways!
